Quickstart
Send your first WhatsApp template message.
Create an API key
In the Enigma dashboard, open API Keys and create a key
with the message:send scope. Copy it right away: the full key is shown only once.
Keys look like org_xxxxxxxx_….
Find your channel ID
Open Channels. Each channel's card shows its ID under the channel name; copy the ID of your WhatsApp channel.
Pick a template
You need a WhatsApp template that Meta has approved for your number. Note its name, its
language code, and how many {{n}} variables its body has.
Send it
curl https://api.enigma-ai.com/v2/wa/template \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $ENIGMA_API_KEY" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{
"channelId": "<your channel ID>",
"to": "249912345678",
"template": {
"name": "hello_world",
"language": { "policy": "deterministic", "code": "en" }
}
}'to is the recipient's number in international format, digits only, without +.
A successful send returns 201:
{
"success": true,
"messageId": "wamid.HBgLMjQ5OTEyMzQ1Njc4FQIAERgS",
"timestamp": "2026-10-10T08:45:35.000Z"
}201 means WhatsApp accepted the message. To know when it is delivered or read, set up
webhooks. To fill template variables, see WhatsApp templates.
